The Children and Families Department of the Velocity Interoperability Network today published its register of early years providers. Forty-six providers are entered on the register at establishment, offering 2,414 places for children under the age of five at the six principal sites of the Network. The twelve largest providers, and the terms on which each is registered, are set out on the Early Years page of this site.

Registration is now a condition of providing early years care in the Network. A provider must meet the six registration standards published today, which cover the safety of premises, the suitability of staff, the ratio of adults to children, the record of each child's care, the arrangements for food and rest, and the provider's own safeguarding procedure. A provider that does not meet a standard may be registered subject to conditions, and the conditions are recorded on the register.

Inspection of registered providers begins on 21 September 2026. Every provider will be inspected within its first year of registration, and thereafter at intervals determined by the outcome of the previous inspection. Inspection reports will be published on this site as they are completed.

Parents and carers seeking a place should apply to the provider directly. The Department does not allocate places, but maintains the register, records the places available at each provider and will advise any family that cannot find a place. Enquiries may be sent to contact@children.gov.vin.
